WHAT TO BRING
You are limited to what you can carry on your back for this adventure however we encourage students to go minimalist like the Hadza by bringing only the essentials.
One set of clothing that is comfortable to walk in for many miles and a warm layer for the nights (lows in the 50s and 60s)

Mosquito head net or full bed net, repellent and sun screen
Stainless steel water bottle or canteen
Hat
Comfortable footware that is worn in (we will cover many miles)
Sleeping bag or wool blanket (sleeping pads will be provided for your comfort)
Waterproof jacket or poncho.
light weight camping tarp for rain protection (it has not rained yet, but it does not hurt to be prepared)
Head lamp
Water filter
Any personal sanitation items you desire
Gifts for the Hadza and Mike our guide - we will talk more about this, but paracord, clothing, and other simple items are much appreciated.
ITINERARY
10 May: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Tanzania - Our Local safari guide Abbas will pick you up at the airport and transport you and the rest of the participants to the Outpost Lodge hotel in Arusha.
11 May: Arusha to Karatu. After breakfast Safari guide/driver Abbas will pick you and the rest of the group up for the 2.5 hr journey to Eileen's Trees Inn in Karatu.
12 -17 May: In the morning we set out meet or translator Mike and our Hadza family. Spending 7 days and 6 nights hunting, gathering and immersing ourselves in Hadza life.
18 May: Last hunt in the morning with the Hadza then depart to Eileen's Trees Inn in Karatu in the afternoon for a shower, dinner, and comfortable bed.
19 May: Full day Game drive in Tarangire National Park, spotting Africa's large game such as Lions, cheetah, elephants, hyena, buck, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and much more. We will be staying at a lodge inside of the park for our last night.
20 May: Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) airport. Enjoy an early morning game drive and breakfast before the transfer to the airport. RAPID COVID TESTS CAN BE DONE AT AIRPORT PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. They cost $25. Approved for US entry.
If you are flying out on May 20th- make sure it is in the late afternoon/evening so you can enjoy an early morning game drive that same day. Otherwise look for a flight leaving on May 21st let us know, so we can book and extra night at a lodge for the night of May 20th.
TERMS, CONDITIONS, AND REFUNDS:
Please review and accept these terms and conditions prior to booking.
Clients bookings are accepted on the understanding that the clients accept the possible risks inherent in travel, and in particular survival training which includes but is not limited to the following activities: Trekking, climbing, dangerous and poisonous animal encounters, knife handling, close proximity to toxic plants, eating wild honey and plants, consuming wild meats, exposure to parasites and bacteria, strenuous physical exertion, sun exposure, close proximity to campfires, exposure to disease carrying agents such as flies and mosquitoes.
Compensation payments do not apply to changes caused by reasons of pandemics, war, riots, civic strike, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural disasters, fire, closure of an airport or port, adverse weather conditions and similar events beyond our control. In case of such an event Caprakhan will have no liability other than to offer you an alternative comparable course, if available, or offer a refund of monies paid by you, not including the deposit.
Alteration of a confirmed booking prior to arrival: If you have booked your trip and then decide to make changes to that trip our agent will assist you. We reserve the right to charge for the additional administration.
Alteration to a confirmed booking whilst abroad: We regret that no credit or refund is possible for any unused services provided in the cost of your course. If you decide to alter your travel arrangements whilst abroad, this is your own responsibility and Caprakhan is not responsible for any extras or difficulties that may arise with onward travel as a result of such alterations.
If you are obliged to abandon an activity due to your own physical limitations there is no refund of park fees and any additional accommodation and/or transport fees are not the responsibility of Caprakhan. You may be asked to sign a Disclaimer Form prior to participation in certain activities.
Airport, International and domestic flight delays. In the unlikely event of a delay, arrangements for meals, overnight accommodation etc., should be met by your airline. If you are joining a group and flight delays mean that additional transfers etc. are required to enable you to join the group, these costs must be met by you the client and should later be reclaimed under your insurance policy if applicable.
Bookings must be accompanied by a $1000 NON REFUNDABLE deposit. The complete balance is due on March 1st. If the balance due is not received by the due date we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled. If the cooking is cancelled prior to April 1st the full amount paid, with the exception of the $1000 non-refundable deposit, will be returned. After April 1st cancellations will provide no refund.
All clients must take out their own adequate travel insurance and supply the details to Caprakhan who will keep them on file, in order that they can assist with any emergency. The original documents should be carried by the client at all times during the course. The insurance must take into account the nature of the excursion and client must specify to their insurance company if they intend climbing, trekking, diving etc. The policy should also have repatriation cover in the event of serious accident.
Clients are responsible for obtaining passports, visas, health certificates, international driving permits and any other documents relating to their holiday themselves and to meet any additional costs which may be incurred as a result of failure to comply with such requirements.
It is highly recommended to book your flight within 60 days prior to course start date, or book a refundable/changeable flight.
